Job summary

Overall Objective:

To assist with the production of monthly management accounts & statistics, compilation of Central Bank regulatory returns and financial reporting for both the CACEIS Branch, Ireland Branch (“the Branch”) and CACEIS Ireland Limited (“the Company”) and to deliver upon the performance objectives set by the Finance Manager.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement the day-to-day financial control as directed by the Finance Manager, with particular focus on:
    • Assist with completion of month-end processes to produce detailed accounts, statistics and variance analysis for submission to Group Head Office.
    • Assist with completion of monthly, quarterly and annual CBI regulatory returns. (e.g. RS2, RV2, RC2, CRS2, SQ2, MTS and FinRep)
    • Assist with the accounting of the Branch’s Portfolio Management activity under IFRS which includes Bonds, Swaps, Money Market funds and Loans.
  • Prepare quarterly income forecasts and an annual income budget.  Investigate, analyse and explain variations in income and expenses from month to month, quarter to quarter, year to year and against budget.
  • Prepare and collate monthly management papers for Senior Management meetings and quarterly papers for Board and Supervisory meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of annual statutory accounts and respond to all external and internal auditor and tax advisor queries;
  • Prepare and collate monthly statistics (e.g. aged debtors, value & movement of assets, largest clients by income) for management reporting;
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of bi-monthly VAT returns.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and performance improvement in process and systems within the Finance Department
  • Liaise with CACEIS Bank peers across the Group, as appropriate;
  • Resolve and escalate, as appropriate, any issues; and
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects as required.

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

• Minimum of third level qualification in an Accounting or a related field.

Level of minimal experience

• To be a self-starter and enjoy working with and analysing numbers in detail.
• To be able to adapt to a fast paced and changing finance environment and learn quickly the additional accounting software applications.
• To be enthusiastic and motivated to learn and develop as the department evolves.
• To be a team player and to enjoy working in a team environment.
• Good communication skills and an ability to work on their own initiative are essential.
• To be able to work effectively and be competent at communicating in English in a business environment.

Technical skills required

• Must have excellent Excel skills and to be proficient in PowerPoint and Word.
• Exposure to SAS (Statistical Analysis System), OneSumX (a regulatory reporting tool) is advantageous.
