Job summary

Job Objective:

To manage the Business Development Unit (“the Unit”), of the CACEIS Group in Ireland in line with the growth and performance objectives set by the Managing Director. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development:
- Work with the Managing Director of both the Company and the Branch, the Head of Regional Coverage, CACEIS Bank, UK Branch and the senior management team to coordinate the business development activities for Ireland;
- Co-ordinate the business development strategy with the other parts of the CACEIS Group;
- Ensure service levels, as set out in the shared service agreement, are met while retaining flexibility to provide services to both the Company and the Branch as required;
- Proactively seek opportunities, both domestic and international, to develop business with existing clients, and identify and realise prospects with potential clients;
-  Make presentations about proposed new clients and projects to the risk committees
- Ensure regular service meetings are held for key clients and that action plans are created and implemented;
- Promote the importance of developing and maintaining positive client relationships to employees of both the Company and the Branch;
-  Maintain a close working relationship with the operations, trustee and product development teams in order to understand the service provided to clients, and monitor the service levels as measured by key performance indicators (KPIs);
-  Work closely with the operations and depositary services’ teams to assist with the launch of new services to clients;
- Work with compliance and internal control to ensure that internal and external compliance policies and procedures are implemented;

Strategy Development:
- Work with the Managing Directors of the Company and Branch to develop the strategy for the Unit;
- Implement the strategy for the Unit;
- Continually monitor the KPIs for the Unit, and monitor progress relative to business targets across a number of areas.

Budget Management:
- Manage the budget, as set for the Unit, ensuring any variances are identified and remedial action is taken, as appropriate, and reported to the Managing Directors.

Management Communications:
- Ensure the Managing Directors are regularly informed of the Unit’s progress, in particular through presentation of KPIs, by escalating issues as appropriate;
- Engage with other Business Development/ CRM representatives elsewhere across the CACEIS Group;
- Liaise with the senior management team to facilitate the smooth flow of relevant information between Units;

- Promote open channels of communication amongst employees and peers 

Performance Improvement:
- Work with the Business Development and Operations teams across the Group to ensure the needs of clients are understood in order to identify potential process improvements, and liaise with the Head of Business Projects to realise these improvements.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

• A relevant third level qualification;

Level of minimal experience

3-5 years


• A minimum of 4 years' experience operating at management level within the funds industry;
• Proven experience in dealing with clients and maintaining and developing exemplary client relationships;
• Demonstrated credibility in dealing with people at a senior level in the organisations of both clients and prospective clients;

Required skills

• Demonstrated credibility in dealing with people at a senior level in the organisations of both clients and prospective clients;
• Willingness and availability to travel, as required;
• Willingness to attend conferences, seminars and otherwise represent the CACEIS Group;
• International experience;
• Familiarity of working in a Head Office-type environment, with exposure to Group-wide reporting and cooperation;
• Ability to independently identify viable business opportunities;
• A passion for the highest quality standards in services delivery;
• Broad experience in dealing with multidisciplinary teams.
