What is the opportunity?
The Investment Management Services team at CACEIS Malaysia provides critical middle and back-office support to asset managers and institutional clients, ensuring accurate trade processing, position keeping, cash management, corporate actions, and regulatory reporting across multiple asset classes. The team operates within a strong control environment, delivering timely and compliant services that underpin client investment objectives.
The Assistant Team Manager, Middle Office Malaysia, supports the team lead in overseeing day-to-day operations, focusing on team coordination, task management, and operational efficiency. This role contributes to fostering a motivated and collaborative work environment, assisting in employee development and supporting team performance. The Assistant Team Manager serves as a point of contact for operational matters within the team and collaborates with stakeholders to promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and process improvement.
- The Middle Office (MO) team is responsible for validating, reconciling, and maintaining the integrity of trades, positions, cash balances, and valuation data across systems.
- The MO team acts as a key control function to ensure operational data is accurate, complete, and timely for downstream reporting, client servicing, and regulatory purposes.
- Operating in a controlled, high-volume environment, the MO team provides detection and resolution of breaks or inconsistencies arising from trading activity or system processing.
- The team collaborates closely with front office, upstream data providers, accounting, IT, and support functions to ensure data consistency and mitigate operational risk.
- As part of the broader investment operations ecosystem, the MO team supports strategic and regulatory initiatives by ensuring reliable operational data that underpins reporting, risk management, and decision-making.
The team contributes to operational resilience through disciplined control execution, exception management, and continuous improvement practices.

What will you do?
Production and Supervision
- Assist the Team Manager in overseeing daily operations of the MO team to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
- Coordinate and monitor team tasks, including shift scheduling, leave management, and capacity planning, to maintain adequate coverage and meet deadlines
- Support and guide team members through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing to enhance skills, performance, and development.
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), process workflows, and ensure accurate documentation for operational continuity.

Monitoring and Escalation
- Serve as the first point of escalation for operational issues within the team, assisting in timely identification and resolution of data flow anomalies.
- Collaborate closely with IT, Data Engineering, Risk, Business units, and other stakeholders to resolve technical and operational challenges.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining monitoring tools, alert systems, and exception handling workflows to support proactive issue detection.
- Support regular reporting on team performance, operational metrics, incident trends, and KPIs to leadership for informed decision-making.
Risk Management
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions to reduce operational risks
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, risk management frameworks, and governance standards.
- Assist in audit preparation and readiness by maintaining control documentation and supporting internal and external audit processes.
