Job summary

 Job Objectives:

·       Act as Depositary to Irish regulated funds in accordance with the Central Bank AIFMD/UCITS Regulations (the “Regulations”), guidance notes and fund documentation: act independently and solely in the interest of the shareholders, to hold in safekeeping the assets of the investment funds and provide fiduciary oversight relating to the management and valuation of collective investment schemes and their underlying transactions.

·       The primary function of the Depositary in the Branch is to review the management and operations of investment funds/structures on a post NAV basis to ensure that they are being managed in accordance with the regulations.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Management of first (maker) and second level (checker) controls in an efficient manner to discharge the Depositary function for Irish regulated funds.

·         Review funds investment compliance, within department defined timelines, to ensure that they comply with the regulations and prospectus restrictions.

·         Review the fund’s key NAV processes, within department defined timelines, to ensure they have been completed accurately and in accordance with the regulations and the fund’s prospectus.

·         Review shareholder trade processing and controls/procedures in the Transfer Agency department.

·         Perform daily AIF and UCITS cash flow monitoring controls.

·         Assist in the performance of on-site due diligence visits of Administrators and Custody Services within the CACEIS Group and draft reports for management review and comment.

·         Ensure logs of breaches, pricing errors, transfer agency errors and operational incidents are accurate and up to date.

·         Assist in the preparation of depositary reports and when required, present the reports at board meetings.

·         Participate in operational fund launch/migration conference calls.

·         Review sample of annual and semi-annual financial statement reports and audit findings reports.

·         Ensure fund fees (including performance and distribution fees) and expenses are reasonable and accurate.

·         Identify, investigate and resolve issues in a prompt manner.

·         Ensure all issues are escalated to the Head of Depositary/Assistant Managers.

·         Assist management with the collation of data for key performance indicators and routine internal depositary reporting and when required, and assist with the preparation of the reporting for management review.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

• Third level business or legal qualification desirable

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years


• The candidate should have a minimum of six years' experience in the area of Depositary with at least two of these at a senior level.
• Good appreciation of the regulations and / or legal documentation relevant to funds
• MIG21 knowledge and experience desirable

Required skills

• Good client service ethics
• Attention to detail and good analytical skills required
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• Proactive, team player, focused attitude towards work and an ability to consistently meet deadlines

Technical skills required

• Excellent PC literacy including Microsoft Excel


• Ability to communicate effectively through French is desirable but not essential.
