Responsible to lead and direct all operational aspects of Fund Distribution Services activities covering Transfer Agency and Fund Execution within Malaysia Client
Operations. The role will support the Head of Client Operations Malaysia and the Senior Management Team in Malaysia.

What will you do?

  • Be a key contributor to the Client Operations Management team
  • Determine the strategy for Fund Distribution Services Malaysia
  • Execute projects within the Fund Distribution Services strategy as agreed with the Global Head of Business Line and Head of Operations Malaysia
  • Ensuring day-to-day deliverables are successfully executed
  • Continuous review, monitor and improvement of workflow and technology for maximum efficiency, productivity gains and quality
  • Establish targets to measure service quality and effectiveness against appropriate benchmarks
  • Develop and implement comprehensive operating procedures that ensure the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of all processes
  • Ensure staff adherence to the operating procedures and control
  • Implement actions in the course of new client, new fund launch, conversion, termination or merger
  • Minimize processing errors and financial losses, promoting best practices
  • Ensure audit points are closed on a timely basis
  • Monitor and ensure the delivery of IT enhancements impacting Fund Distribution Services
  • Define clear business and personal objectives for staff and ensure that they are in line with the objectives of the company
  • Maintain sufficient communication channels with direct reports to help their development and guide them towards the most suitable approach for the company.

  • Perform annual reviews and recommend promotions

  • Ensure structure and culture of the department supports the delivery of a quality service and excellence in client service
  • Participate into customer/prospect presentation when required
  • Provide specialised knowledge on the capabilities of the Fund Distribution Services, Malaysia
  • Participate into the new client acceptance process
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to Fund Distribution Services, Malaysia
  • Liaise with other departments and maintain communication channels

Must-have

  • University Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years extensive experience in the financial industry with good business acumen, in which at least 8 years sound technical knowledge/experience in Fund/Trust Services
  • 5-10 years’ experience in managing large groups of operations professionals
  • Good knowledge about Fund/Trust industry and Financial Market in general
  • Superior planning and organization, management skills
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Good networking and client relationship
  • Knowledge in computer literacy
  • Strong sense of responsibility, a well-organized person with good team spirit
  • Independent, confident, self-motivated, pro-active and mature person
  • Willing to take on new challenges and work under pressure

 

Nice-to-have

  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
  • Finance and Postgraduate qualification are an asset
