What is the opportunity?

The Investment Management Services team at CACEIS Malaysia provides critical middle and back-office support to asset managers and institutional clients, ensuring accurate trade processing, position keeping, cash management, corporate actions, and regulatory reporting across multiple asset classes. The team operates within a strong control environment, delivering timely and compliant services that underpin client investment objectives.

 

The Client Operations Officer is responsible for supporting the daily processing of transactional data flows within the FAM team. This role manages routine operational tasks, addresses data discrepancies, and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure trade accuracy and operational efficiency. It plays a key role in maintaining seamless team operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • The Flow Acquisition Monitoring (FAM) team plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless and accurate flow of transactional data across systems and business lines.
  • FAM is responsible for monitoring, validating, and maintaining the integrity of incoming instruction feeds from various upstream sources.
  • The team acts as a gatekeeper to ensure that operational data is complete, timely, and accurate for downstream reporting, analytics, and regulatory use.
  • Operating in a high-volume, high-availability environment, FAM provides early detection and resolution of trade anomalies or interruptions.
  • The team collaborates with business units, IT, data engineering, and support functions to ensure data quality and mitigate operational risk.
  • As part of a broader data governance and operations ecosystem, FAM supports strategic initiatives by ensuring reliable data pipelines that underpin critical decision-making and compliance activities.
  • FAM is instrumental in enhancing operational resilience through the implementation of automated monitoring tools, exception handling workflows, and continuous improvement practices.

What will you do?

  • Perform operational processing activities within assigned queues to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely availability of transactional and operational data.
  • Execute defined operational controls, validations, and monitoring checks in accordance with documented procedures to maintain data quality and system integrity.
  • Monitor data feeds and integrations across assigned client accounts and report exceptions or failures for investigation.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve routine breaks, anomalies, or processing issues across upstream and downstream systems, escalating where required.
  • Support incident handling activities by providing relevant information, analysis, and follow-up actions as required.
  • Liaise with IT and support teams to report system alerts, processing issues, or automation failures impacting daily operations.

  • Update operational trackers, logs, or status reports to support issue tracking, transparency, and management visibility.
  • Perform assigned activities in accordance with agreed service levels, control requirements, and documented procedures in line with agreed operational response expectations.
  • Act as the first-line operational responder for FAM instruction flow interruptions, initiating investigation promptly to minimize downstream impact.
  • Perform timely initial checks on blocked, delayed, or rejected instruction flows in line with agreed operational response expectations.
  • Investigate FAM-specific issues related to instruction receipt, validation, or downstream handoff, escalating where resolution is not achieved within defined timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support resolution of FAM flow issues and provide clear status updates until closure.
  • Support cross-location operational activities by sharing investigation findings and required follow-up actions for FAM-related incidents.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • Relevant education background: Investment Management, International Business, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, etc.
  • Ability to investigate, resolve, and escalate data anomalies and operational issues
  • Prior involvement in continuous improvement or process optimization initiatives
  • Able to handle high-volume, time-sensitive data environments
  • Knowledge of data acquisition systems and upstream/downstream data dependencies

Level of minimal experience

0-2 years

Experience

  • Familiarity with trade lifecycle processes, especially in a high-volume and time-sensitive environment, is preferred
  • Experience in monitoring and validating transactional data flows in financial services or related industries
  • Exposure to trade lifecycle processes, exception management, and data quality controls

Required skills

  • Understanding of flow acquisition systems and controls, including upstream trade feeds, STP (straight-through processing), and exception monitoring
  • Understanding of data flow monitoring and exception management processes
  • Analytical skills for root cause investigation and process improvement

Technical skills required

Experience with trade and position systems below would be an advantage:
