Job summary

What is the opportunity?

As a Manager, Fund Accounting, you will manage a Fund Accounting team that is accountable for all controls and processes are followed in order to maintain accurate records for each fund and all exceptions and controls breaches are escalated immediately and resolved timely, ensure all audit and regulatory requirements are satisfied and key service level agreements met. Also, responsible for the daily management of the operational team ensuring accurate and timely processing, reconciliation and valuation of inputs.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the team efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness, and to reduce operational risk.

Region: Dublin

Working hours:  9:00am – 6:00pm

 

What will you do?

Team management of daily operation:

  • Planning and Delegating Tasks eg organize the team’s daily workload based on priorities, deadlines and available resources; Assign tasks to the right people according to skills and capacity.
  • Monitoring team performance eg. Track performance metrics such as productivity, quality and adherence to deadlines. Provide feedback and adjust strategies to maintain performance standards.
  • Problem-solving and Decision making eg. Handle operational roadblocks quickly to avoid disruptions.

 

Team development and process improvement:

  • Identifying skill gaps and training needs.
  • Developing and implementing training program.
  • Fostering a continuous improvement culture.

 

Internal Department communication:

  • Disseminating information effectively.
  • Managing conflict and miscommunications.
  • Encouraging feedback and two-way communication.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • Post-secondary education with an accounting/finance concentration or equivalent.

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years

Experience

  • Financial Reporting  Experience which mastered the reporting process, gained an understanding of accounting standards (including  knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)) and developed leadership skills.
  • Extensive experience in the Financial industry with good business acumen, in which includes sound technical knowledge/experience in Fund Reporting and Regulatory environment.
  • Sound planning and organization, management skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Enrolment in an accounting designation program would be an asset
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

Technical skills required

  • Good knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and country specific accounting standards)
