Job summary

What is the opportunity?
CACEIS was set up in Cyberjaya, Malaysia in July 2023 with approximately 1,000 employees, with the acquisition of RBC investor Services’ European business and Malaysia centre of excellence. As a centre of excellence, the team in Malaysia provides asset services, custody and payments for clients in Europe (Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Switzerland and United Kingdom) with a global operating model that maximises efficiencies across time zones, supports 17/5 operational capability with follow the sun model, enhances scalability of our global operations and the implementation of standardized processes.


As a Manager, Fund Accounting, you will manage a Fund Accounting team that is accountable for all controls and processes are followed in order to maintain accurate records for each fund and all exceptions and controls breaches are escalated immediately and resolved timely, ensure all audit and regulatory requirements are satisfied and key service level agreements met. Also, responsible for the daily management of the operational team ensuring accurate and timely processing, reconciliation and valuation of inputs.


The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the team efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness, and to reduce operational risk.

Working hours: 1PM – 10:00PM / 2PM – 11PM / 3PM – 12AM / 4PM – 1AM


What will you do?

  • Be accountable for ongoing client satisfaction by ensuring their needs and expectations are met through service excellence; act as the point of contact for escalated client issues and ensure they are resolved; participate in weekly/monthly oversight calls.
  • Deliver on operational effectiveness by managing the performance of the team against goals and providing continuous improvement ideas .
  • Manage risks by proactively identifying potential issues and mitigating them; ensure satisfactory audit results and train team continuously on accurate operational procedures.
  • Build a high performance team by hiring, training and developing them to deliver on overall operational goals; provide ongoing feedback and conduct formal performance reviews on a semi-annual basis; ensure Business Recovery Planning is conducted and tested on a regular basis.
  • Provide strong leadership through promotion of CACEIS values, communicating high quality standards and developing yourself against the CACEIS leadership model.
  • Management of resources to ensure that all daily task are completed to ensure high quality (timeliness & accuracy) of all NAV production deliverables are met within the deadlines and Service Level Agreements (SLA) .

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • Post-secondary education with an accounting/finance concentration or equivalent.

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years

Experience

 

  • Typically 5 – 8 years of related experience in Fund Accounting processes and / or Derivatives processes with 5 years’ experience in managing and coaching teams of operations professionals.
  • Extensive experience in the Financial industry with good business acumen, in which includes sound technical knowledge/experience in Fund/Trust Services.

Required skills

  • Good knowledge about Fund Industry, products and Financial Markets in general as well as good technical knowledge on calculating Net Asset
  • Value, preparing financial statements.
  • Knowledgeable in geography’s regulatory environment.
  • Sound planning and organization, management skills
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and country specific accounting standards).

Technical skills required

  • Project management experience.
  • VBA/Macro knowledge.
  • Computer literacy.
